Strategic Intervention Materials (SIM) in Teaching Physics: Its Effectiveness

I've presented my research paper in a recently concluded 3rd DepED Bicol Research Conference held at Naga Regent Hotel, Naga City, Philippines. My research study is entitled ' Strategic Intervention Materials in Teaching Physics: Its Effectiveness'. This research study was conducted when I was still a classroom teacher at Marcial O. Ranola Memorial School (MORMS), Guinobatan, Albay in 2007, that was 4 years ago. After I had attended the National Training-Workshop on Strategic Intervention for Successful Learning as one (1) of the participants from Region 5, Bicol, in Davao City, Philippines in Summer 2005. One of the training objectives was to capacitate the teacher in developing various intervention materials for remediation and enrichment of learning.
The focus of the Science Education Program of the Basic Education Curriculum in the Philippines is to make learning meaningful for students, in order to improve their achievement.
In order to be of great assistance to the students; learning situations be made realistic; and address the low performance of the students in the year-end achievement test. Hence, this study.
(Note: Research abstract will be posted in the next blog)
